Seperation Anxiety times 100

Seperation Anxiety times 100

Good morning,
I originally posted under forums and saw then saw this "ask a doctor" section all and any advice please and thank you.
I am at a complete loss as my daughter who just turned 6 last week is starting to become extreme with speration anxiety. She loved kindergarten I never saw this coming I recently enrolled her into a summer reading program and she cries every single day it is a morning nightmare to get her ready and bring her then she cries throughout the day all she says is "your not there mommy I just want to be with you" I was not at kindergarten??! I just dont get it??I will say over the past 3 months she has become worse with her shy side. She has a severe fear of boo boos or blood example: mothers day she had a bug bite she came up to me and said mommy what is on my back?? I touched it she began to cry her lips went white then she said I think I am going to faint I no sooner picked her up and she threw up all over me then went into a 15 min shaking episode because she had come so close to fainting. Just trying to give you an all around idea so her shyness also extends into this extreme anxiety that is now multiplying into seperation anxiety as well. My youngest who is 4 1/2 is the split opposite not shy etc etc. Any thoughts?? Thank you for reading my post in advance

Your description indicates that your daughter displays a fundamental, or baseline, shy temperament, along with separation anxiety. Children who are basically shy by nature tend to display separation anxiety more than do children who are not shy, though any child can exhibit separation anxiety. Your daughter's school experience this past year indicates that she will be fine as she proceeds through school. On hindsight, it probably would have been better to let her be at home for the summer. The school year is long and exhausting for young children, particularly at the kindergarten year. The benefit from 'recharging' their attachment to parents during the summer. Be patient and supportive, all the while encouraging your daughter to do the normal age-typical things that children her age do. In other words, don't let the separation anxiety drive the schedule or routine. If your daughter exhibits an anxious response, ask her: What would make it better? How can you solve this? See what she suggests (which does not mean, of course, that you will necessarily do whatever she suggests). This type of reply conveys to the child that the situation can and will improve.

Thank you so much as I sit here she is on my lap crying she begins this an hour before summer school every day. I ask her do you love your teachers she replies "Yes" then I said do you have many friends she replies "yes" through tears. Then I say so why do you not want to go?? Her reply as always "I just want to be with you mommy" Mind you she is near hysterical I fear if I allow her to stay home she is going to do this to me come September but at the same time I just cannot keep putting her through this emotionally she is the only child in her class who on a daily basis the teacher has to help me to get her in her class as she cries and cries. Then cries off and on through out the day it is only 3 hours but this takes everything out of her. I asked her what can we do to make it better her reply "you stay mommy you keep me safe" so I honestly think I am going to have to pull her out this has been on going since July 9th and is just getting worse not better. I will pull her out and see how she does come September in between I think I am going to speak with her doctor about her new extreme fears with boo boos and fears of bieng around crowds  where she may be looked at that is a huge thing to her as she proved on her birthday even family we could not put candles on her cake she cried all morning for us to not put candles or sing as she did not want everybody to look at her. Thank you so much for your advice.

Sincerely Lisey
