Swollen nipples

by john17, Mar 02, 2001 12:00AM
I'm a 17 year old boy and I've got a question.
When I was 12 or 13 (i can't remeber exactly) my nipples got swollen, now nearly 5 years later they are still swollen, they are round and stuck out (swollen up) I can push them in and they feel very soft. I heard from some people that it is normal and that it will go away after 1 or 2 years but I have still got them! are there any medicine you can take to stop the swelling?
please help me with this I'm desperate for an answer cos i'm really embaressed about it.

thanks

This can be entirely normal, and usually resolves itself without specialized treatment. However, due to the length of time you've experienced the condition, it would be wise to consult with your doctor or health care providers.
