Do you have an opinion regarding the use of Tenex/ guanfacine for ADHD treatment -- of hyperactivity and impulsivity?

This antihypertensive medication can be useful, depending on the circumstances. In very small doses, it is sometimes employed with children who are very young and for whom parents may not wish to use the psychostimulant medications. It can also be a useful treatment for children who have not responded well to the psychostimulants, either because the medicatioins have not been effective or because they brought on intolerable side effects (even if they were effective in addressing the ADHD symptoms).
