On Friday my boy came back and told me that he was punished by his teacher whom by the way wasn't his class teacher. I asked him why he told me he talked to his friend, I asked him why did he do that? He then said that his classmate wanted to borrow his eraser for the third time because hers was 'dirty' and his wasn't. The teacher told him to stand beside the whiteboard infront of his class with his hand covering his mouth then later was asked to apologize to her! All these are done without asking him why he talked! I am upset with the techer, I wrote a letter to his class teacher asking her to look into the matter and clarify with the teacher concern, the class teacher told me on the student diary and verbally that my son is an excellent student who so far didn't create any problems for her only that he is very quiet. She told me this because there was once such incident happened to my son with a different classmate who borrowed his stationery and broke it.

Hi hun, I received a phone call from the teacher who punished my son, she told me that my boy was punished because she saw my son talking and there isn't any need for the girl to borrow his eraser I told her that my boys was ever 'bullied' by another classmate with similar senario she seems to still stand by her action. I am told her that my son is not talkative in class that what's the class teacher told me, she then told me that the girl is and will ask the the class teacher to separate them, no apology I am still upset but thinking that my children will be in the school I decide to let the matter rest.

These kind of power shows are exactly why we home school/ unschool.

We don't believe in punishments, or praise...

other than genuine smiles of happiness.
