Three year old preschool behavior.

My son recently started preschool for the first time three weeks ago.  Prior his grandma and cousin used to watch him.  We recently got transferred away from home, so we placed him in school.  His teacher keeps reporting, as it is a problem, that he is "wild". He wants to run around and play and not sit down and do work.  She also states that although he clearly knows his colors she has to give him the colors she wants him to color with.  He also draws on the backs of the paper and on any blank paper he can find.  I don't see this as a problem, I actually encourage him to be creative as long as its not distructive (like coloring on walls.)  He is really well behaved at home, occasionally has temp tamptrums but he does well with time out.  Is this normal behavior?  How can I repremand him or should I?

I have a "wild" 3 year old in pre-school and his pre-school works with him not against him.  Perhaps you need to find a school that encourages him to be creative.  There are pre-schools that perfer the child chooses his activity and is told to color the apple whatever color he wishes.  I would not repremand him I would do my homework and find a school that works for your son.

Perhaps as it is at school he behaves like this you could ask the teacher to meet out some mild form of time out, is he the only one who does this at school? he could be copying, does she give the children enough stimulation as if they get left to their own devices they will act as you describe out of boredom,, as hes okay at home I would check out what they do in the way of activities at school. Good luck
