Toddler Spitting on People

We now have a 15 month old living in our home who spits on people and animals.His mother has been telling him how naughty and icky it is to spit ,but he just looks at you and laughs. What type of disipline can be used on a youngster of that age that will teach him not to spit?He also likes to hit the animals (dogs) .When he is told "no "not nice , He will give hugs then hit right back again .He is living here, along with his sister (5 yrs) because of  domestic abuse to his mother from the father. He has seen the abuse to his mother.She and her kids now live with us. Thank You for Comments and Ideas

Try distracting him by moving his attention to another object or person.  He is too young to understand that it is icky.  My oldest who is almost seven just now stopped blowing raspberries.  The sad part is that she started at age 3!

It is kind of like the family joke.
