Understanding my 3 year old son

My son is 3 years and 4 months old. He is very good at pre-school, obeys everything he is asked to do. He follows all the discipline he needs to whilst he is in preschool; right from doing his work, eating or using the toilets. Unfortunately he is very different at home. He is always angry, self centred, doesn't allow me and his father to talk to anyone, hits his younger sister very often, wants to play with the same toy as others and above all always tried to relaliate to whatever he is asked to do. If not then during his time out he tries to hit me or my husband or even the grand parent. I agree we try and say 'no' to lots of things, but reward him for his achievements as well. But still he continues with the above behaviour. I really would like to understnad how to handle him, as now a days I am losing my patience. I would like you to help me to show how i can effectively communicate wiht my child to help him grow to a better person.

Thanks

He is probably jealous of his younger sibling as he is only 3 years old, he is feeling left out as she probably gets more attention being younger, he has found that negative attention is better than no attention it is his way of getting some. So ..focus on his positive side , praise him when you see him doing something right, get Dad involved with Ball games and outside activities, one to one time you play with him also,so he is part of the whole group, ask Granparent to do the same , hes only asking for some more love...Good luck
