Vocal and Motor tics

by Deb915, Oct 26, 2009 10:49PM
My  8 year old son was diagnose with simple motor and vocal tic disorder.  I was told he would more than likely grow out of it,  Recently he has experience leg movement with some pain. ( happens at bedtime)  This doesn't happen very often, but is this part of the disorder?  Also what options do have ? He really can articulate how the pain feels, but he says that it feels like a broken bone.

my 12 year old daughter has chronic tic disorder the worst of it is at bed time.  I do know when we tried to get her to stop by doing something else her tics got worse.  It seems to me at night she may have strong feelings or emotions about something and it will make them worse.  Another thing with  your son's leg movements and the pain makes me think of restless leg syndrome  I'm not sure if 8 years olds can have this but worth checking into.
