Waking up At nite...Again?

by JeenMOm, May 30, 2001 12:00AM
I am the mother of a 7 months old who started sleeping through the nite at 10 weeks. Now all of a sudden he has started waking up at 3 in the morning screaming? I dont feed him when he wakes up at thid time I give him his pacifier, calm him down and put him back to sleep some times it happens a few times at nite. Now i don't now if it is his 2 new teeth, or if it is something else? I just need some help, please.

Teething discomfort can occasion such a reaction, but another possibility is the use of the pacifier. If the child is used to falling asleep with the pacifier, then wakes up and is unable to grasp it, such upset can occur. The best thing for young children is to fall asleep on their own without the use of anything that can be missed during the night when normal partial wakings can occur during the sleep cycle.
