aggressive two year old

Our two year old son has started to hit and push young children in our church nursery. We have put him in time out and the problem stated to rectify itself. However, he is now much more aggressive to the other children and time out seems to have no effect on him. He is also more aggressive to his older brother and animals. He will play nicely for awhile and then out of now where he hit, pushes, or clears the table. When he is by himself he does not exbithit any of these issues.

From a management perspective, you are doing the correct thing by placing him in time out. Be persistent; do not waver in this approach. He clearly feels vulnerable/threatened when in the presence of peers, but he will likely adjust. You've got to continue to be firm and unwavering in the limit setting and discipline.
