asberger diagnoised at age 17

my grandson, age 17, recently diagnoised with mild asberger and mild autism.  The only treatment mentioned is full time residential care at a cost of $5,800 per month.  I'm wondering if you have any other infor that would help us deal with this young man.

pd - "mild autism" and "mild aspergers" wouldn't cause someone to need full time residential care - people with "mild aspergers" (which is a form of autism) function in the community and are often brighter than average.  They struggle with smooth social skills and are often comfortable in tech type jobs.

I think you need more help with a diagnosis and treatment if his true diagnosis is mild autism and you've been offered full time residential care.  That doesn't really make sense.
