Is CPR ever administered on someone suffering an asthma attack?  When someone has an asthma attack, do they pass out in the end?  How could the situation be handled in an emergency, when the victim doesn't have an inhaler present?

Dear Laurie,

This Forum is meant to address questions about child behavior, not really about emergency medicine, and I don't regard myself as qualified to answer your question.

i have a 3 yr old with asthma we have almost losst her twice, with her attacks.she has never past out,but we do have inhalers with us all times and she has a breathing machiine, but with the machine we can only give her 3 treatments and if no improved we have to go to the er. Where we are from the hospital is not set up for this so she is tranported by medic chopper to a great hospital in fairfax va. Please take this very serious sometimes it could be live or death.
