autism in children

i am a mommy of a 3 year old beautiful little girl . i have noticed some out of the ordinary behaviour . she has been slamming herself into the back of my sofa , shes not a social butterfly and isnt big on the sunshine im wondering if i should be worried about autism ?

A lot of kids slam themselves into the back of the couch - I can picture exactly what you're saying.  Social Butterflies are in the minority,  most kids are kind of in the middle,  and prefer some alone time and some social time,  and I can't tell what you're saying about she doesn't like the sunshine.

Can you be more concrete with specific examples of things that concern you?

well she slams in to the couch pretty hard , that just started this year , if i take her outside she will almost come back in the house she cries because of the brightness of the sun , she also repeats herself over and over while shes slamming into the furniture like she thinks no one can hear her almost these behaviours have just started over the past few months . if we have company over she wont come into the room until everyones gone just little things shes doing now that she has never done before concern me , so when i read about autism i starting having questions.

yes i made her an appointment , i just wanted some opinions from other moms that may be experiencing similar problems

If you have not done so already, take her to see her pediatrician.  Whether it is autism or not, it never hurts to have her checked out by her doctor and tell him/her about the behaviors you have noticed.

Does she wear sunglasses and a hat outside?  My kids always complained unless they had those things on.

Prepare a record of her behaviours so you can present a detailed account to the doc.

no i have,nt tried sunglasses on her but i will and see if it helps . the other day we had another episode , there was a fly in the house and aleah flipped out , she is so scared that she is tormenting herself in her head , beyond scared , screaming , shaking my husband and i tried to tell her that the fly couldnt hurt her but its almost like she cant hear me when the uncontrolable screaming starts. its almost as if she blocks everything else out and shes uin her own little world im so confused
