Don't forget he could still be teething - check if he has all 20 milk teeth, otherwise it could be that his back molars are erupting which causes excessive drooling. Get him checked by his paediatrician or ENT doctor just in case it's any thing else.
Yes thats true enlarged tonsils and sore throats do cause excessive drooling, have the doctor look at them ,
Drooling can occur when the tonsils and/or adenoids are too big for the area. Allergies can also be a culprit. What does the dr say??
Hi there. Well, you really don't provide much detail and I wouldn't initially go to the idea of autism because of excessive drooling. Autism has a wide range of things associated with it no matter where someone falls on the spectrum. There is also a wide range of what is normal in a three year old as well.
I agree that a good question to ask is--- how is his speech? Excessive drooling can often be associated with poor oral motor control or in other words, poor use of the mouth muscles. There are other things that could cause that as well.
So, if you could provide more information, it might be easier to help you. good luck
There are many other reasons other than Autism has he any other behaviors , drooling , what is his speech like any problems there ? Does he get sore throats maybe good to have his tonsils checked .
