babysitter for child with early-onset schizophrenia

by elena222, Oct 07, 2009 08:07PM
My name is Elena. I currently have the rest of this school year to devote to helping a child in the wider Boston area. I have qualifications both as a Montessori teacher, and as a therapist for children diagnosed with mental illness. I am offering to provide my time, understanding, training, and respect for this condition, in exchange for the experience of working with a child, who I believe, with the right support, can learn to be happy, and teach us all something along the way.

Please let me know if you or someone you know could use the help. Thank you.

That is wonderful you have these qualifications and want to help children,I agree with your sentiments about children teaching us something along the way, the thing is we do not refer work here at MH but you may get some help by googling your work and the area you are living in, also try Employment agencys ,under healthcare ..Good Luck

Thank you for informing me of your protocol, especially in such a supportive manner. I will try the suggestion you made. Because I am not looking for financial compensation and am not licensed; but do have the experience and the time right now, I had initially thought this would be a good place to offer my service.

I do appreciate having found this site, because while I may not have the means to pursue such certification right now, maybe I can benefit from sharing what I know.
