behavior

Good Evening,

My daughter is 8 years old.  I am concerning about her behavior at home. I would like to know what kind of specialist she needs to attend.

I want to start saying that she has a new stage in her life because she has a 2 years old a brother.  This is something that bothers her a lot.

My daughter does not listen to me and she wants to do whatever she wants. We are in conflict all the time because of that. She answers bad to me and she have been learn bad things from friends in school.
In the other side I can see that she is very nervous since she was little.  She has a behavior of anxiety, she eat her nails since she was 3 or 4 years old from her hands and foot. She is very unpleasant all the time.  She is an angry person. She is frustrated for almost everything in her life.  She complains for every single thing. She is out of control sometimes. Seems like she never happy.  She looks very stressful.  At night when she is sleeping she can rest well, she speaks a lot and most of the time I can heard she is fighting with her classmates in the dream.  She moves a lot at she kicks a lot.

My mom who take cares of her  said that  she need an urgent treatment from a neurologist because she is afraid that my daughter one day can do something bad. My daughter tells my mom she doesn’t care about anything.  The way she treat us is no good most of the time.
I would like to know if according with these facts she needs a treatment for nerves?

It may help her if you all focus on her positive side , you say having the 2 year old bothers her, could you tell us why you think it does ? Has she jealous feelings does he get a lot of attention and she maybe feels left out, children feel hurt when a new sibling comes along, some one to one attention for her may be good . How does Dad fit in does he do things with her, play games have fun,  I dont think its ADD i think its extra attention and loving this child needs.Focus on her positive side and praise her when you see her doing something right ..good luck

My mom  said that  she need an urgent treatment from a neurologist --  your words

For your mother's and your piece of mind, it might be wise to seek advice from your daughter's pediatrician or family doctor.  He/she then will be able to better guide you on the next step (if one is required).  Sometimes as margypops said she may require a change in parental involvement; sometimes not.  But, when you don't know, then you seek the advice of a professional.  Until you know what the problem is,you can't fix it.  All the best ....
