Don't bite him.  I'm one of those people who thinks it's ridiculous to do that.  Has he been biting since he was a toddler or did he just start biting?

Take him to his pediatrician and ask for guidance--s/he may refer you to someone.  Since he's so much older than the typical toddler who bites, I would be concerned that he may have some other issues goin on (maybe he is being mistreated (bullied or abused) or having a hard time with a divorce or big life change, etc.).  See what your doctor thinks.
