center of attention

At my one year old grand-daughters birthday party, someone wanted to have a picture taken of only the grandmothers and great-grandmothers. My other grand-daughter, who is 5 was told that it was just for the grand parents. The 5 year old walked away and continued at the party for another two hours with no problems. When she was taken home to her parents she burst into tears and said the people had been mean to her and did not let her in the picture. I was told that I should have let the 5 year old in the picture, but as I said the 5 year old did not seem concerned when told "no" at the time. The 5 year old continued to cry as long as her parents told me that I should have let her in the picture. When the conversation stopped so did the tears. I feel the 5 year old has learned to play her parents against me, the grandmother, to get what she wants. The parents believe I was heartless considering the behavior of the 5 year old when she got home. Now what do I do?
