children blinking

I have a 4 and a half yr old who has just started blinking repeatedly - i have noticed this getting worse when he is being told off and when he stays at his father's house (we have been separated 18 months). I think it is an emotional response to his situation and hope it will pass if not given too much attention. My sister, now 30, had similar involuntary tic, such as flexing her jaw and blinking when under stress and unable to vocalise it. All tics went within months. I would like to know other people's experiences of this but also to give my reassurance that I don't think it is tourettes. B x
