clothing issues

my daughter is 8, and was diagnosed with ADHD  2 years ago. For years she has been giving me the hardest time with her clothes and recently is has become worse. She needs to wear her clothes big and  baggy. She says she can feel the threads, including in her socks. We have to stretch them first before she puts them on and has to stretch out the collars of every t shirt. Jeans are NEVER worn, the seams apparently press into her skin and sport shoes, she has said she can feel bones in them and they press on her feet. In order for her to wear shoes at all they have to be 2 sizes too big, like the rest of her clothes. She complains her feet hurt alot and is starting to not want to participate in play time with other kids because of it. She also had an issue with metal, in particular metal jewelery, such as earings and necklaces. Bathing suits in the summer are an issue because they are all made to fit, and I'm actually getting my own anxiety issues over the coming winter, dreading the snow suit and winter boot fight about to come.
I feel so bad for her, the other kids are starting to make fun of her because of how she wears her clothes. Not that its right, and she shouldnt be worried about fashions but I really dont want her self esteem to suffer anymore than it already does. She herself knows there is a problem and has layed crying wanting so badly to wear the clothes her other friends do, and just not being able to. She has asked me why she is like this and why it wont go away. Its heart breaking and I dont know what to do, or even what the problem is to start with.
Is this related to her ADHD? Is there something I can do to help her ease her mind or even get over these issues? Maybe i'm catering to her too much, and she's just being fussy?
I"m at my witts end and its so frustrating and time consuming

hmmm. That is a bit stressful. When I first starting reading your post, I related a bit, but than it just went on and on and I can see why you are frustrated. My daughter hates jeans, period. The seams bother her, its too snug on her bum and other body "parts". They can't be the slightes bit long. She hates socks, but I can get her to wear them just to put on shoes, but if they are too bulky or to long, wow, she has a fit. Her sleeves to her shirt can't be too long, or the neck. She hates all sweaters, they are itchy she says. Shoes are my nightmare. I buy countless shoes and no matter how much I try, 2-3 days later, they bother her. She only likes cotton. I buy her yoga pants, cotton hoodies, cotton shirts, cotton socks. Cotton, cotton, cotton! She is almost 9 now and is getting better, but I tried telling her if she used an undershirt, it would protect her skin and thats how I got her to wear shirts more fitted to her. However, this did not prevent her from playing with the other kids or look different from the other kids. She just wore cotton and a lot of clothes these days are very stylish in cottons.  You mentioned she has ADHD, I personally do not believe in this diagnosis to be honest with you, it seems every child has this diagnosis now.. and I am not certain that it has anything to do with her "picky" clothes preference. I would perhaps ask a school teacher who you should speak with if it is so stressful for you and its causing you anxiety. Good Luck.
