counselling an 8 year old girl for temper tantrums

how do I approach this problem. I have some ideas , just need maybe, reassurance.

What triggers the temper tantrums, firstly I would find out why she is upset by something would you have any idea ? I am sure you have asked her if she feels well or if she is worrying about something, is school going okay any problems there, has she siblings does she get on okay with them,give us an idea of the dynamics in the house.
