crack addicted babies

My sister smoked crack seven months of her pregnancy, I have the baby in my custody as of right now. The baby's belly hurts all the time like gas she doesn't sleep well she doesn't eat very good. well not as good as my son did anyways. Should I be worried?

i assume the baby's pediatrician is aware of the problems that occured in pregnancy? what does he/she have to say? the ped would know what types of complications to look for. my best friend's family fostered and adopted many babies whose moms did crack while pregnant. they all have problems of some kind. how old is the baby? it could be typical fussiness, but it could also very well be related to the drugs.

Treat the Baby as if she hasnt had this background and assume it is Cholic and N ormal problems of Babies Digestion,ask your Doctor about her food and maybe try a differant Formula, you dont say how old the Baby is, if she or he  is on solid food or what, but do assume He or she is normal and this is just part of having a little one in your life, Lots of Love and Fun ,a lot of care and attention.

The baby is only two weeks old. And I have no problem with dealing her it hurts to know that my sister done this to this precious lil angel. I think the lord wanted this, that's why she is here with me. Thanks for all the information.

Is.nt it a wonderful thing you have the chance to look after her and of course it hurts to know your sister could have done this, she is with you now and I have no doubt you will shower her with Care and affection, you said she had a stomache ache this is common with Babys and as she is not breast fed has to get used to Formula, I am sure someone is visiting you from social services so ask about the kind of Formula and any other questions relating to her crying, they do cry and sleep mostly at 2 weeks.Good Luck, let us know how she is doing.

Just chat with the pediatrician.  There are very real issues with crack addicted babies.  She may very well be just fussy but there are other real issues that complicate your situation.

or the baby can just be full of poop!!! i know when my son is backed up he sleeps crazy!!!!and that can also be why she is not eating..Does she poop everyday? it could be just that....
