dad let him taste beer!

earlier I noticed a bruise on the side of my sons stomach I asked him what is was from and he said his dad shot him with a bb gun (I was furious) and now to make matters worse my 5 yr old little boy just told me his dad let him taste beer today at a b-day party..... I am so angry I dont even want to send him home but we have a court order and he has custody how do I go about this should I call the cops or what?

When you say "taste" do you mean one swallow or two?  Or do you mean drink a glass?

I don't think there's a problem at all with allowing a child to taste beer.  It tastes so awful most kids just wrinkle their noses and decide that's enough of THAT awful thing!  We certainly allowed our kids a taste, and that was enough for them to realize it tastes awful.

The much bigger concern is shooting a child with a bb gun.  Is this a real bb gun,  or was that an air soft pellet that's designed to be shot at other kids in fun?

Shot him with a bb gun?  I also don't think the beer taste (if it was just a taste) is a huge big issue, but the bb gun would have me on the phone to my lawyer pretty quickly.  Perhaps the authorities as well.  However, prior to that a call to his dad asking what happened might be in order.  It doesn't seem like there can be a reasonable explanation, but I think if co parenting, it's probably the right thing to do..

when he came with that bruise on his stomach you should have called the police...if its still there call them...and let him explain to the police...that could have been his eye and since his father do drink beer the aim could have been misdirected to his eye...if he was a girl would you contemplate calling the police? or maybe your just scared cause it will just look like your trying to get back custody...? Saftey if first...PERIOD.

I agree with grannie this is totally unacceptable and dangerous the child needs protecting. Speak to the father and get his side of what happened.
