depression

My 5 year old grand-daughter is sad all the time she always has tears in her eyes I ask what wrong (i dont know) she has been to the doctor she sits in her room lights off she tells me she is tired and sleepy all the time. my daughter tells her she is doing this for attention and to stop it I suffer from depression i see the sighns i just dont know what to do

Something is upsetting her, why is she sitting in her room ? perhaps she needs some extra attention , ask Mom to play games with her children usuallly resiprocate, does Mom work, how does the child get on at school, has she got friends.. ask Mom to take her to parks , play have Fun ...I dont get why she is in her room with lights off, where is mom ?
