He has seen a doctor and now takes a product to keep him from becoming constipated. Sometimes he goes to the bathroom only to do a small amount, but other times he goes in his "pull-up"( its easier to change these). He used to wear littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys boy underwear, but decided the pullups would be better. I am not totally convinced that he can't feel when he has to go, but he says he can't. Sometimes he seems to be too preoccupied to go to the toilet. His Mom says he sometimes goes during the night in his pullup. Thanks for your comments.
my 12yr old has had chronic constipation all his life which has resulted in him having encopresis, he has been under a specialist for the past 9yrs and after trial and error he is now on a medicine called Movicol which softens his stools and enables him to pass them out which in turn helps with the excessive soiling (encopresis). like your grandson my son wears pullups at night when it is bad and giving this medicine has helped so much, he is not cured yet but at least we have more good days than bad.
Best wishes.
