Dear Katelynn,

My expertise is in the assessment and treatment of emotional and psychological conditions, but I will ask our pediatrician to take a look at your question.

Dear Katelynn - Feeding a toddler can be a real challenge, as many do more grazing than real eating. Many toddlers only eat a few good meals a week - and still seem to grow and remain healthy.
So - it is always hard to sort out what is normal and what is not.
With that in mind - I would encourage you to meet with a Pediatric Nutritionist for diet recommendations.  I would offer high calorie foods - like milk shakes - and even add supplements to your child's diet - either Pediasure or supplemental oil -   if your child's diet is truly calorie poor.  A nutritionist would be best able to evaluate your child's diet and offer suggestions that would be appropriate for her and your family.
Also - do make sure that your daughter isn't drinking lots of water or juice that could sabotage her solid intake.  Finally, try not to make feeding a big issue - hard as that may be.  And follow her growth and development closely with her doctor.
Good luck; Hope this helps  - Dr. EV
