frustration in 4 year old

My 4 year old son becomes extremely frustrated and I am wondering how we can better handle the situation. For example, he is trying to master the tricycle, and when he can't do it, he becomes extremely frustrated and either tips it over or becomes quiet and shuts down and will not react to anything. How can we help him to overcome frustration? Another example is with things he can clealy do, like zipping up his jacket. The one time he is not successful, he will throw a tantrum.

Let him move throgh the emotional reaction without your intervention. As he develops he'll learn to manage frustration better - it's a process and takes time.
