grandson afraid of a bath

My 27 month old grandson always loved his baths until about 2 weeks ago. Out of nowhere he started screaming when my daughter gave him a bath. He keeps saying his "pee pee" hurts. He only says this when he is submerged in water, he doesn't complain otherwise. She has checked him for a rash and there isn't one. I told her not to force him that it will only make it worse. Other than when he needs his hair washed, they has basically been sponge bathing him. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Time will take care of this. There is no need to push him or rush this. Just continue as you are doing and he will be fine.
