grandson
i have a 9 year old grandson who literraly chews offf the collars of all his clothing..what, if anything, ia this indicative of? how can i stop this behavior?

Below is the answer that I posted to your question - you must have missed it.  If you feel that you  would like a professional opinion, then try posting in the "ask a doctor" forum.  


Chewing items as clothing and paper and even one's fingernails is a behaviour to those suffering from anxiety.  If anxiety is the issue, the way to "break this habit" would be to "lessen the anxiety" - this is the difficult part.  Of course, there are other reasons a child might chew on items; however, anxiety usually is the culprit.  Hope this helps ...
