help for lks behavior

My son is 9 and has been diagnosed with landau kleffner syndrome for 5 years now. He has lost all speech but does use ameican sign language and pictures to express himself. His behavior lately has become uncontrolable. He is abusive to myself and his sisters ages 6 and 1. He will destroy anything to upset me and takes playtime with friends and cousins too far that it becomes hurtfull. He runs away from me contsently for no reason or for not getting what he wants. He screams constantly and gets extremely upset over very minor things. He will try to get out of a moving car, or punch kick or throw anything at me while I am driving. Sometimes it will be for a reason other times not. Things will seem fine then all of a sudden there not. I can no longer controll him or can I take him anywhere even if its for fun. He see's a therapist and has been on abilify he is now on risperdal for 2 weeks now and I am not sure if it is doing anything. He takes ativan as needed and lately its been almost daily. He see's a neurologist regularly at Mott Childrens hospital in Ann Arbor Michigan. Is there any suggestions you may have, I am at a loss for all hope. Thank you sincerely Beverly Goulet

Actually you are doing the sensible things. His medication will continue to require adjustment. One option is to arrange a partial hospital program for the purpose of achieving stabilization (though he may actually require inpatient hospitalization to accomplish this).
