help in creating interest in studies

My 10 yrs old son is not at all interesed in studies,also he is not at all disciplined.I feel I have tried all methods but he doesn't listen at all. please help me.

When you say he isnt interested in his studies , do you mean his homework, what is he like at school, does he get good reports from his teacher. When he gets in from school may I ask what is the first thing he does after he has had a snack ?

He doesn't write anything in school notebooks .All his books are incomplete and shabby.He loves going to school but doesn't like studying and his teacher do complaint that he never sits in one place and is talking all the time.Only thing is he is very good at answering orally.As soon as he comes from school he reads lstorybooks.He is fond oif reading but doesn't pay attention to what the spellings are he reads greedily.He is caught reading story books while teacher is teaching.

Hummm sounds like a clever boy to me, reading is wonderful, they the teacher  is being a bit picky, perhaps she could ask him not to talk all the time ,thats her province as he is at school at that time .How about in the evenings you or his Dad sit with him and show him ,go through his notebooks and help him, some children need that exra push ..he sounds like a bright boy to me ...Focus on his positive side and praise him when you see him doing something right ...
