Eating dirt can be a symptom of a mental health disorder called "pica".  It is one of the symptoms of children suffering from developmental delay or autisim.  I hope this is not the issue with your child; but if you are not sure, I feel, you should contact your daughter's pediatrician.  Early intervention does make a difference in the outcome of either of these disorders.  I do wish the best for you and your daughter .....
