how do i get a 2 1/2 year old to stop biting!!

my nephew keeps biting alot of kids he bites just to bite he doesnt have to be mad or defensive he bites till he breaks skin and it bleeds we have tried biting back putting in time out we dont know what to do please help!!

My daughter was a biter too. We asked the question to everyone at Early Childhood Education and nobody had an answer. It is something that they just do. They finally do stop, but it can take awhile. My daughter was playing with two other children, when one of the girls got bit. My daughter came running all upset that the girl got bit. Of course, it was my daughter that bit her!
