ive recently got a puppy and i caught my 5 year old son hitting him and touching the dogs private parts and he also lies on the floor to let the dog be rude on him.hes very hyperHyper-sal and misbehaves often.he wakes up at 5oclock in the morning full of life and often talks to himself in his sleep and when hes awake.what can this be please help.
Your post appears to have more than one concern. You are concerned that he is hurting the dog, he is hyperHyper-sal, misbehaviours, wakes early, talks to himself when awake and asleep. I don't think you can expect him to understand the dog attaching itself to him - he will just find that funny at his age.
When he is talking to himself what is he saying. Is he repeating something he has seen on a TV show or from a film he has watched?
Is he playing with children his own age, or does he have difficulties with this?
Does he have a general difficulty understanding emotions in himself or others or predicting outcomes?
Kids do go through funny phases, it may not be something to worry about. He doesn't realise that he mustn't touch the dogs private parts, and doesn't realise that he mustn't hit the dog, so perhaps you need to supervise him more with the puppy.
