lack of attention is actually causing delays

we have a 28 mo girl whos been thourally evaluated for learning delays.  they did recomend ot and pt to improve her fine and gross motor skills which wher at a 20 and 27 % delay.  one of the main reasion she is showing a delay is she had to constantally be redirrected in her task or was unwilling to even try them.  she does have a launguage dfisorder that is simulare to a central processing disorder only mor sover she cant understand spoken launguage.  Can this have anything to do with her inabiity to tend to task or are we seing the fordst sigh af adha possibly ?

Dear Jo Marie,

Your daughter is too young for you to be worrying about ADHD. The symptoms you are describing are entirely consistent with the developmental difficulties that have been identified, and it sounds like you're on the right track in pursuit of remediation and help.

The major symptom clusters (inattention, psychomotor overactivity, impulsivity) of ADHD are part-and-parcel of the lives of pre-school children. That is why it is important not to worry too much about this condition at her young age.
