Hi there.  My son did the same thing.  What happens is, kids don't really like to poop.  If they go more than a day or two, then it becomes painful and they remember that.  Then they REALLY don't want to poop.  My son would go a week without, and then one night for several hours fight it until he was sweating and crying and it forced its way out.  I took him to the doctor, and she perscribed a laxitive.  It won't make them go more often, but fill the poop with water basically making it so soft that they cannot control holding it in, and then they realize after a few days that it doesn't hurt and it's okay.  This medicine is actually over the counter now, Mirlax.  When you start, you want to give her a full dose, once a day, mixed in juice.  She will never know.  After a couple of days, you are going to have one poopy kid.  Tell her it is okay, even when she has an accident.  Usually, when you start, you are going to have accidents that first day because they are still attempting to hold it.  We actually told our son about the poopy medicine in his juice, showing him how it makes his poopy not hurt anymore.  We set aside time before bed to go, and every night without fail, he goes.  Once we got him to really have a good go, we cut the dose in half and just keep him on it daily.  It pretty much just keeps him regular.  Of course, talk to your doctor.  However, I promise you, it changed our lives.  He is aware of how much dairy he eats now, he will proudly tell us how many plops he can get out, and he finishes his juice at dinner so his poopy will never hurt again.
