my 6 year old son uses the bathroom on himself daily

my son is now 6 years old and still cant go the bath room on his on ,he was diagnos with contispation about a year ago and was given stool softers but the problem has not gotten any better ,this problem is messing up our lives please what can i do ?

What do you mean he cant go on his own, of course he can, you let a 6 year old be in control of his own body, constipated or not, back off and dont feed into it, no stool softners, make sure he is getting plenty of food with Fibre,Veg and fruit, Orange juice,then do not talk about it too much over reaction,
