my 7yr old grandson has fits and nothing you do stops him

I don't know how to handle my 7yr old grandson. He has screaming fits if he doesen't have his way. i ignore him and just let him cry it out. It doesen't help. He gets angry with disipline. And he's starting to get mean. I was wondering if his mother yelling at him has anything to do with it. she yells and takes his toys thinking that's the correct way to disipline.

What triggers the screaming fits is there something upsets him prior to them, sometimes it is easier to 'nip it in the bud before it starts, also try distracting him with some games, at 7 he would be happy with sports and  games, keep him busy at your house and interested . I think you are right that he could also be learning this behavior if his mom yells a lot, she would be better doing time outs and being quieter ..
