my daughter is so out of control with her behavior, she lies about everything. she is very hurts animals when ever possible an has really morbid dreams, she does ok in school but at home or anywhere else she doesn't listen to anything I say, she disrups the whole family, does a lot of fighting with her sibblings. she throws fits of rage when I tell her to do something, like clean your room, or do your homework, if she doesn't want to do it she screams an doubles up her fists an starts waveing them at me. i'm very worried about her, but I don't know what to do with her behavior, theres mental illness on my moms side of the family, her an her sibblings. pleae help me help my daughter....
Hi there. Sorry it is so tough. I have an 8 year old myself and they can be challenging for sure. Sounds a bit more than normal though. I wouldn't jump right to mental illness though. She could also be distressed or have some other type of underlying issue such as a neurological problem. I would start by talking to her pediatrician and then begin working with a child psychologist.

OH, and glad she is doing well in school. That is a really great sign as mental health problems typically aren't selective as to where they happen.
