my 9 year old son

My nine year old son recently started poping his neck and moving his jaw side to side. Everytime im having a conversation with him he does both. He says he doesn't know why he feels he needs to do it, hre also says it feels better when he does it. What could this be please help people are starting to notice and point it out.

This sounds like the beginning of a 'nervous tick.'  My experience with children is that they usually do go away - and we try not to call attention to it.  More info:
