my nephew lays on my bare stomach and doesnt to his own mother...
So I have never had children and my nephew likes to pull my shirt up and lay his face on my stomach. This confuses me because, as you know, I am not his mother. And when my sister saw this, she told me that he doesn't do it to her. Apparently I am the only one he does that to. Please help me understand why.
Maybe your sister has simply put out the vibe to him that she doesn't like it if he does it.
My son is 6, and he still likes to stroke my bare skin on my back and stomach, especially if he is being held or cuddled. I think it subliminally takes him back to how he felt when breastfeeding. He doesn't bug my boobs, or by now I'd probably be nervous it was mixing up childhood memories with the first stirring of hormones, but he does like to tuck his hands into my underarms, which bugs the heck out of me. lol He'll take them out when I tell him to, but he keeps doing it when he gets the chance.
Anyway, I think skin-to-skin is a kid's way of self-soothing. I know a LOT of kids who do this kind of thing on their satin blanket bindings. Don't let it worry you unless you feel it's creepy or inappropriate.
