need help with a shy 10 yr old

I HAVE A SHY 10 YR OLD , WHO WHEN MAKES A MISTAKE IN FRONT OF PEOPLE HE DOSENT KNOW WELL, WISHES HE WERE DEAD OR HE COULD DISAPPEAR AND RUNS AND HIDES. I JUST DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO TO MAKE HIM UNDERSTAND ITS OK TO FACE HIS MISTAKES AND NOTHING IS THAT TERRIBLE AND  HIS CRYING AND CARRING ON JUST MAKES THINGS WORSE FOR HIM.

Having a shy temperament by itself is not a problem. However, your son is displaying a level of anxiety that indicates social anxiety disordr and this invites help. You should arrange an evaluation with a pediatric mental health professional and not attempt to manage this by yourself. Reassurance alone will not be effective.
