need help

My daughter who is now 7 years old has various difficulties.
She has had 7 eye surgeries for strabismus (one for each year of her life). She also had pneumonia twice during her second year of life and was trated with very high pwered steroids for over a year, these led to dental surgery because they rotted her teeth, and also totally changed her personality and made her very aggressive. She is a highly intelligent child (almost scary sometimes) and has a vast memory for everything, but doesn't do well in school. She has major social problems with other children and a huge lack of self confidence. I am a bit distrustful of most doctors after experiences we have had with her, and am scared to take her to just anyone. I do not even know what kind of doctor I should take her to for these problems. She still has eye problems they can't seem to fix, and as parents we can't seem to fix the social and seld confidence problems. HELP PLEASE?

To address the social, emotional and behavioral problems, arrange an evaluation with a mental health professional who specializes in the pediatric population. The clinician can be from any of the four disciplines whose members diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders: clinical psychology, clinical social work, psychiatry or psychiatric nursing. The most important factor at this point is that the clinician be a seasoned practitioner.
