no BM's in the potty

by Madsmom, Sep 17, 2001 12:00AM
my near 3 year old daughter is great with her potty.  She sometimes wets the bed at night but I am not concerned with that because it is not all the time.  She won't have a BM in the potty.  She hides and does it in her pants.  I don't know what to do, I have bribed her, I have gotten upset I even tried the positive side where I praise everytime she pees on the potty.  But nothing is making her want to have a BM on the potty please help me.

Be patient and supportive, encouraging your daughter but not pressing her. This is a phase that many children go through - i.e., they go off by themselves. It's a step on the way to complete training. Be sure to keep up your system of rewarding her, just don't put too much pressure on her to comply. Remember, she's not yet three years old. She is very young, and she's not at the age when you have to worry about her not yet having mastered toilet training.
