my two yera old like to take her diaper off and play in her poop when she take a nap i have tryed every thing that i can think of when she dose this i take her out of her crib and give her a bath then i try to put her back to bed and i let her know that what she has done is not all right and that its naughty i put her in time out but she dont under stand the meaning of time out yet shes only two and when i put her down for a nap she is dry and clean she also like to eat it too and i know that its not good for her my question is what can i do to get her to stop this behavior, is it because she is board when she wakes up, or is it just something that she dose to get our attention??? thank you for all your help
You can be sure of one thing: the behavior has nothing to do with wanting to get your attention. Be sure to have items in the crib to occupy her, and if the behavior occurs be sure to lat her know verbally not to do this. Whikle time outs are fine for two-year-olds, and a good idea for some behaviors, the time out will not be useful in this case unless you happen to witness the behavior while it is occurring and then can pair it immediately with the time out. Do not yell, but in a decisive manner simply tell her "No". You'll likely see this behavior wane pretty quickly.
