poor muscle tone

My 6 year daughter was diagnosed yesterday with mild poor muscle tone. I haven't heard about this until now so would be grateful if you could advise me on cause, symptoms, will it get worse, will it affect her academic schooling? She seems like a normal little girl, except a terrible eater!

Any background on this would be welcome.

the condition is called hypotonia it can be benign and not cause any problems my daughter is almost3 and has low tone in all her extremities it can actually be a good thing if the child is active like mine because they can usually bend farther than most before they break

Dear Clare,
