potty training

My son is 3 years and 2 months old-I have tried everything with potty training.  Stickers, treats, how proud he will make me, presents, pee on cheerios, only babies wear diapers,etc.  My son shows all the signs of being ready but seems scared to sit on the potty.  I can't even get him to sit on it.  He wants to do all other things on his own except this.  He knows when he has to go and can hold it.  He can dress himself.  Is there something I can do to just get him to sit on it or should I just let it go.  If you do let it go for a certain amount of time, how long should that be and what should I do once I try to get him to go on the potty again?

What's pee on cheerios?

My daughter went through a phase of showing all the signs and using the potty a few times, she did really well, and then reverted back and refused to sit on the potty.  She eventually came around and was ready.  From there it took about 2 weeks to get her to start pooping in the potty and she was fully trained.

You'll definitely have a hard time making him sit on the potty if he is scared of it.  He will eventually feel that independence and want to do it himself.  I know even now, my daughter will not want to brush her teeth unless I am brushing mine.  Same thing with the potty.  If I ask her to go, she will say she doesn't need to go.  But if I say that I am going, then of course, all of a sudden, she needs to go and she needs to go FIRST!  Good luck!
