pull-up or diaper?

pull-up or diaper?

We are raising our grandkids.  Our grandson is 3.4 years old.  He is articulate, advanced in speech and everything else.  However, he refuses to potty train.  I do not want to push him and create an unpleasant experience.  He was in diapers and we tried "big boy pants" (underwear) unsuccessfully.  We tried training diapers or pull-ups which he does not particularly like.  There is a past history of abuse, hence the reason we have them.  I know that somehow putting a diaper on him creates a sense security some how, and am not apposed to it, but do want to be sure this is not a negative thing for him. I just need reassurance that leaving well enough alone at this time is the right thing to do.  I do stay home and he djoes have a very healthy, happy, sociable life.

Yes, it's perfectly reasonable. Continue to encourage, but not pressure, training. Use of books and videos helps along the process.
