You should bring him to his pediatrician right away. There's every reason to think that something might be occurring with his central nervous system that invites immediate attention. In any case, don't hesitate in arranging an evaluation.
There is no way to tell what the future might hold, but you can expect that his neurologist will be able to stabilize the seizure disorder. Always let the neurologist know right away about any new or changing symptoms. The anti-seizure medication should not have any impact on his school performance.
EEG's register electrical impulses on only a portion of the brain, but will likely detect the proble. And, along with the MRI, the EEG will be helpful. It is not uncommon that stabilization of a seizure disorder takes some time, so I do not think your son's situation is unusual in that regard.
I've noticed that since he started taking the medication he is having more body movements and he also bends his body down alot, he had 2 major seizure the 2nd day of the medication and the 3rd day of the medication. Is this normal? his teacher also told me that she has notice a lot of body movements this week.
I am getting a bit worried now, he has to do a MRI soon..If there was amajor problem would they detect it in the eeg or id the mri standard procesures.
Thank
hi
My son has now bwwn diagnosed with having seizures, after an eeg test, and is now placed on a medicine called tegretol..I am a biy concerned about how this medicine will affect his performance in school and also his behaviour...
Should i be worried? also he bends his head and entire body to the side alot, and bends his head down alot too...is ther more going on with his body than seizures..
