It does appear you are dealing with separation anxiety. If so, then the anxiety "gene" was probably there at birth and is part of his personality. The best way to handle anxiety is through patience and understanding; not through orders and yelling/talking (which you have already learned do not work). Fear and discipline will not work either - the only thing that will work is the "lessening of the anxiety".
First, you might wish to google the phrase "separation anxiety in children" or "anxiety and children" or similar words/phrases to get a better understanding of this issue. Hopefully, you should able to find some ideas on how to deal with this issue in some of your readings. Then, I would discuss this issue with your son's pediatrician or family doctor. If he/she feels that your son requires specialized treatment, then that referral could be made. I wish you the best .....
